RenhuvudDans invites Sámi artists to apply for a one-week residency in Mittådalen.
The residency offers time and space to work freely with your artistic practice. There is no requirement to produce a finished work – the focus is on process, exploration, and creative freedom.
Who can apply
• Sámi artists and creators in Sápmi
• Dancers, performing artists, musicians, writers, duodji practitioners, visual artists, filmmakers, and other creative practitioners
You can apply in three different ways:
1. Individual residency
You work on your own during the week.
2. Residency as a pair
You apply and work together as two people.
3. Open for collaboration
You apply individually and are open to being matched with another Sámi artist from a different artistic field.
About the residency
• One-week residency in Mittådalen
• Time and space for your artistic process
• Accommodation and food included during the full period
• Travel support up to 4000 SEK
• Materials covered upon agreement
• Fee: 8000 SEK excl. VAT (invoice required)
• Access to working spaces
• Access to a coach
• Possibility to take part in a creative workshop
Focus
We prioritize artists who are open to:
• Collaboration across different Sámi artistic practices
• Exploring new ideas, methods, and expressions
• Working in relation to place, culture, and community
What we ask
• Full participation during the residency period
• Respect for the place, land, and local context
• To share something from your process through a simple public sharing for the local community
• To allow parts of the residency and conversations to be documented (film) for documentation and communication

Briefly describe both of you, what you want to explore together, and why you want to work together.
3. Open for collaboration
Briefly describe yourself and your practice, and your interest in collaboration. You are welcome to share ideas, but no fixed plan is required.
Applicants will be notified no later than July 1.
