The yellow room in the exhibition: Elmie
Elmie can mean both sky and storm. The dance film Elmie is a dance film created based on the poem and painting Elmie (see Gäetie 1 in the exhibition) that Madeleine has created.
I have used different words and sentences from the poem to create movement patterns while also using feelings that I got from the painting – Marika
In the creation of the music, Jon-Henrik has received various directives. For this film, I have asked him to listen to how Sami patterns sound and find inspiration in Sami crafts." – Marika
The film Elmie is about 4 minutes long and the song is called "Elmie", you can find it on Spotify.
The blue room in the exhibition: Jieleden tjïrrh
Jieleden tjïrrh means through life and reflects the journey we make together with our ancestors and future generations. This film is also created together with a poem by Madeleine Renhuvud, the second painting in "gåetie 2" in the exhibition.
I have created this film based on various poems and paintings that Madeleine created in the process. I used her movement patterns when creating art and listening to texts and narration. For me, this film is hope. Hope that our ancestors follow us through life to make the best choices we can in faith that our descendants will do the same - Marika
The directives Jon-henrik received for this film: What have you received from your heritage, your genes, the environment you grew up in? Free to create music and joik based on the theme of heritage, environment, natural forces and traditions.
Jieleden tjïrrh is about 7 minutes long and the song is called "Jieleden tjïrrh", you can find it on Spotify.
